Koraput-Rourkela Express; Indian Railway tragedy continues …..

A grieving accident took place in 10 km. purview of Titlagarh at Sikir railway station on 3rd May 2011 at 12:27.Luckily more than 100 passangers escaped from certain death but 24 passangers were injured in this incident and they were admitted in Titlagarh Hospital.Out of the injured four were transferred to Visakhapatnam Hospital.The story started at 12:15 am., when Koraput-Rourkela express(which is under the south east railways) leaved from Titlagarh railwaystation towards Rourkela.The train was quite empty and most of the passangers were in deep sleep.But it faced an accident at Sikir railway station. as a goods train coming from other track hit the victim after being offlineed from it’s track.The news prevailed around like the ray.The rescue operation went uo to a fly, when along with railway staffs, Titlagarh youth and social activists joined in the operation.Four buggies along with the engine of the goods train was damaged, where as in the passanger train only the general buggie was hit, which caused the injury of 24 passangers.The injured were dent by the Lion’s club ambulance and private buses to the Hospital.All the trains travelling in that route are cancelled and the repairing of railway track in going on rapidly.Sambalpur division DRM arrived at the spot, but he refused to say anything about the incident.Balangir SP Ajay Sadangi and other administrative officials also arrived in a short time span after the incident took place.All the passangers were travelled to Balangir in just two buggies of the express train and also a special train went to Balangir along with the express.

Vice President Hamid Ansari Visiting Orissa

The Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari will turn for Orissa on this Wednesday for a three days tour. He will come to the Biju Patnaik International Air port at 5.00 pm on Wednesday by his special flight. At the Air Port the guard of honor will be specified to the Vice President. The Vice President will stay at the Raj Bhawan tonight, and will grace the 30^th Convocation of the Orissa University of Agricultural and Technology (OUAT) as Chief Guest at 11.00am. The Vice President will make the holiday at Konark and he will reach the place at 3.00pm and will remain there up to 5.45pm. Vice President’s wife, Salma Ansari will escort the Vice President during his tour to Orissa. The Vice President will visit to the KIIT University at 10.30am on 22^nd October and be present at the function there, and then the Vice President will return New Delhi at 3.00pm.
