America threatens to send back Pakistan ambassador if Raymond Davies is not freed

It is believed that the USA has resorted to the use of force to free its foreign official Raymond Davies who has been arrested by the Pakistani govt. on charges of murdering two Pakistani citizens. America has threatened to send back Pakistani ambassador in Washington Hussain Huqqani if Davies is not freed by the Pakistani govt.

According to reports Davies was arrested by the Pakistani police for allegedly killing two Pakistani citizens on Friday. America’s National Security Advisor Tom Donilon has reportedly summoned Huqqani to his office and threatened him to free Davies or else be ready to pack his bags from Washington.

It is even believed that Washington has cancelled the planned visit of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to the USA. The information has been shared by two Pakistani officials according to ABC News Channel although there has been no confirmation by the US officials.

In the meanwhile, a Lahore court has ordered 36 year Davies to be kept in 14 days judicial custody. This comes after the police had arrested Davies in connection with murder of two people after analysing the video footage of the incident. But Davies has stated that two gunridden people confronted him with the prupose of looting him and so he had to open fire on them. And Washington has extended support to Davies and is putting pressure on Pakistan to immediately free him.

Indian Express in the finals of the Australian Open

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have stormed into the finals of the 1ts Grand Slam of the year- the Australian Open.

The duo popularly known as the Indian Express are playing together for the first time in a Grand Slam since separating in 2002. They are attempting to win their 1st ever Australian Open to complete a slam of the Majors having won all the other three Grand Slams- Wimbledon Open, French Open and the U.S Open earlier in their career.

They reached the finals after winning their semi final game against the duo of Max Mirnyi of Belarus and Daniel Nestor of Canada by 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 in a closely fought encounter. They will now meet the top seed pair of the Bryan brothers of the USAwho beat the duo of Eric Butorech and Jean Juliason Roger by 6-3, 6-2. Paes has already won 12 grand slams in his career while Bhupathi has won 11 titles.

Meanwhile Kim Clisjters of belgium and Li Na of China will face off in the Women’s single event finals. Clisjters beat second seeded Vora Zvonareva by 6-3, 6-3 while Li Na won by 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 against top seed and World No.1 caroline Wozniacki of Denmark.

Li Na also became the first Asian player to reach the finals of any Grand Slam singles event. And she deserved her place in the finals after playing a beautiful game against Wozniacki coming from a set down to win the match. But Clisjters had no such problems and won easily against Zvonareva to reach her second Australian open final since 2005.

Meanwhile in the Men’s singles Novak Djokovic became the first player to reach the finals after seeing out World No.2 Roger Federer by straight sets 7-6, 7-5,6-4. Djokovic was in excellent form and proved more than a match against federer who looked surprisingly out of sorts. he will meet the winner of the second semi final clash between Britain’s Andy Murray and David Ferrer of Spain.

Student of Times Scholars Gurukal meet to Governor MC Bhandare at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday before leaving for Scotland to take part in World Karate and Kickboxing Association. These students are from the Times Scholars Gurukul and they have been selected to take part in the karate and kickboxing association at Scotland this year. Before leaving for Scotland, these students have managed to meet Orissa State Governor MC Bhandare at Raj Bhavan. On Tuesday these students have opted for the Raj Bhavan in order to meet the Governor MC Bhandare. Well, it was a great gesture for these students from Gurukul to meet the Governor of Orissa and now they have been headed for Scotland to take part in the Wordl Karate and Kickboxing Association. 150 labors from Orissa Allegedly Detained in Central Sudan

Near about 150 labors have been detained in central Sudan by their employer. These labors were involved in a construction side in central Sudan. The Khurda district police have received the complaints from these labor’s families and steps have been taken by the labor department in order to rescue these people. Near about 214 labors were sent for central Sudan by an Andhra based construction company last year in order to work at the construction side of the Kosti Thermal Power Station developed by BHEL. Some labors have managed to return back to their home in three phase and the employers in Sudan have detained 150 labors there. Local congress leader Debendra Mansingh requested the center to move the Indian Embassy in Sudan to rescue these people.

He wins the gold medal for India in the men’s 69kg category. At the same time Ravi Kumar has managed to break few records for the 321 kg (146+175). He has also surpassed the Cameroon’s Venecelas Dabaya’s total of 310kg in this Commonwealth Games. Sanyukta Pangi, 16-year old school girl from Koraput has been nominated for attending J8 summit, an initiative taken by Unicef to globalise education.J8 or Junior 8 is a meeting of 52 youngsters from G8 countries and non-G8 countries India & Brazil.

India, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Britain, the US, Brazil, China, Egypt, Mexico and South Africa are the countries whose representives attending the week-long event.

‘If I could ask the world’s leaders to prioritise one thing to help children, it would be education,’ Pangi said on her selection for J8 summit, a youth summit being held parallel to the G8 meeting in L’Aquila, Italy.’I had to struggle to go to school. If I hadn’t convinced my father to let me continue going to school I would not have been at the J8,’ said Pangi, who is among the 14 people in the 14-17 age group selected to meet the global forum.

The invitees have decided to address issues in education, climate change, children’s rights in the context of the global financial crisis and poverty and development in Africa.The Orissa teenager Pangi, who wants to become the district collector of Koraput in the next 10 years, said: ‘I want the leaders to know about what tribal girls are facing in India.’
