Teachers’ Day – A Right Occasion!

The all – Utkal Primary Teachers’ Federation observed Teachers’ Day as a black day today in protest against the alleged indifferent attitude of the state govt. towards them.

At least 15,000 primary school teachers from districts across the state staged a mass rally on this occasion. They expressed their desire to meet the chief minister in order to notify him of their troubles so that they could be addressed at the earliest.

AUPTF president Pramod Kumar Jhankar said: “The govt. always stresses on quality education but shows unconcern when it comes to paying us our due.”

According to him, govt. has abandoned to the demands of both teachers and students. Just getting children admitted in school does not mean that the Right to Education Act has been enforced in strength.
