Naveen will Lead the Polavaram Battle!

After a perfect exhibition of power in Lanjigarh, now the Biju Janata Dal is planning for another show time in Malkangiri. The ruling party BJD seems to be all set to make the forthcoming rally in Malkangiri successful. This rally has been planned to highlight the Congress led UPA government’s Step Motherly Treatment for Orissa. It’s the Polavaram project that is on the line.

Sources of BJD have mentioned this time Naveen will lead the Malkangiri rally from the front and this time he will have to take on the center which is consistently refusing to offer enough importance for Orissa’s point of view on the project. Orissa has claimed that Polavaram project will inundate at least 11 villages in Malkangiri district which is also the border for congress ruled Andhra Pradesh.

Bus hijacked in Malkanagiri,Orissa

In the big threat of maoism, a new case seen in the villages of Malkanigiri, where suspected villagers and Maoists, hijacked a bus in Malkanigiri district on Saturday.The villagers were urging before for the bus services between Bhejanwada village and Jeypore.Police has linked the hijacking case with the bus demand before.

The bus was hijacked near Gumphakonda Chowk, about 50kms away from Malkanigiri, by the villagers.According to the report of Police, the bus was on its way to Jeypore from MV 88.The villagers forced the driver to move from the bus and took the bus away about 20 km from Gumphakonda Chowk.

Satyabrata Bhoi, SP of Malkanagiri reported, “Three bus employees are in arrest of the hijackers.The bus owner had been called for a talk with the villagers.We are keeping a watch in the situation.”

Repolling with tight security

Amid all the odds , today repolling was over in 25 polling stations.
To have a grasp on security, Government has put 20 company CRPF along
with helicopters for any uncontrollable situations.The naxal prone
area Malkanagiri was on high alert for naxals attack.But there was a huge voting
in those 14 polling booths.Gomphakunda, one of the station in the district of Malkanagiri,
started its polling after 20 minutes as the polling party reached their after walking a huge distance.
Although the naxals had warned the villagers not to vote, but voters came there without any hesitation. It has been reported that , these areas got the maximum voting.Five stations of Bhejangiguda, another area under naxal warning also attracted a 85% of voters. Four stations of Nawarangpur boycotted polling .Above all the polling was conducted smoothly.
