According to sources the vigilance deptt. which was probing the case had submitted its report to the CM and had requested for permission to take action against the govt. officials invovled in the scam. The names of 25 govt. officials including the collectors of 4 states were amongst those named in the report. The vigilance had  mentioned the names of several district development officials, child development project officials as well as health officials of the districts after probing 5 distircts namely Devgarh, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Ganjam and Baleshwar and pleaed the govt. to alow cases to be registered against them. Apart from the Ganjam district collector, the vigilance had also requested permission to take action against the collectors of the remaining four districts.

However the Chief Minister has not said anything regarding the course of action to be taken against the collectors. Chief Secretary of state Bijay Kumar Pattnaik has stated that samples of  the low quality dal have been sent for testing and after the reports are obtained actions will be taken against those found guilty.

However a section of media has reported that the govt. was under pressure from an unkown source to not take action against the IAS officers or else the govt. could be in for some opposition from the officers. With the State Assembly set to begin from today it is believed that the govt. does not create an uproar in the Assembly at the beginning.

The incident is believed to have happened when Chief Minister Navven Pattnaik was on his visit to the Netaji Museum situated in Odia Bazar house of Netaji where he was born on the eve of Netaji Jayanti. And Mahatab was accompaning him. According to another cop who was on duty during the time, the CM was moving in opposite direction to Sri Mahatab and he reportedly got upset as he could not find his wat through the crowd.

Meanwhile, Sri Mohapatra who was beaten up by the MP has stated that the BJD politician assaulted him while he was engaged in security duty of chief minister. He stated that Sri Mahatab slapped and punched him without provocation. he explained that they had got instructions from the DCP that not to allow general public into the galleries during the Chief Minister’s visit as the place was getting crowded and there were security concerns and he was merely following the orders. But suddenly Sri Mahatab came from behind and started abusing him. And though he allowed the MP inside but still he slapped him and punched him.

Meanwhile the MP was first unavailbale for comments, but later he has come out with a statement denying the allegations of Sri Mohapatra and has stated that he has not attacked him and the police officer is putting up a false allegation against him.

Gadkari has launched an severe attack on the Naveen Pattnaik led BJD  govt. by stating that the CM is sitting on a heap of corruptions and he has not only decieved the BJP by breaking the alliance between the two parties in the previous elections but also decieved the  people of the state. He has further stated that the people of the state have come to know the real facet of BJD govt. and want to get rid of it and  BJP is their only alternative.

The BJP President has also had a dig at the Congress by stating that while the Congrees has ruled the country for a total of 55 years out of the 63 years of India since Independence by giving slogans such as ‘Garibi Hatao’. But the irony is that still over 50% of the Indian population still earns just Rs 20 per day. Gadkari has claimed that the Congress has been able to iradicate poverty somewhat but that is the poverty of the Congress leaders. Gadkari has taken a real dig at the Man Mohan Singh lead govt. by stating that while Singh’s tenure has been claimed by Congress to be the most clean govt. but in reality it has turned out to be one of the most corruption hit govts. He stated that given the number of corruption charges that have come up against the govt. in 2010 it would not be wrong if it is celebrated as the Year of Corruption. Gadkari revealed that the UPA govt. has seen many scams and corruptions underits reign in the year 2010 including the 2G Spectrum scam which has an estimated value of i lakh 76 thousand crore rupees, the ADarsh Housing Society scam, the Commonwealth Games scandal etc. He further stressed that the govt. has completely failed to control inflation and black marketing as the prices of daily commodities have shot sky high with onions literally bringing tears to the eyes of people. The Govt. has also increased the fuel prices seven times in the past six months. Gadkari was also furious with the fcat that while farmers in the country are suffering due to the unseasonal rains the govt. is busy buying aircrafts worth Rs 17 crores each but has no funds to help the farmers.

The BJP President also said he failed to understand why the Congress govt. has still not the put into effect the prosecution order of Afzal Guru, prime accused in the attacks on the Parliament as well as Ajmal Kasab who was the main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Gadkari then shifted his focus on the state govt. and accused that the Naveen Pattnaik led BJD govt. is doing in the state what the UPA has been doing at the centre. He further accused the state govt.by saying that it  stands guilty of extending undue favours to Vedanta and other multinational companies, as well as the crores worth mining scam in the state.
Among others, MP Balbir Punj, BJP observer for Odisha Santosh Gangwar, senior State leaders Bijoy Mohapatra, Biswabhushan Harichandan, KV Singh Deo, Suresh Pujari and Nayan Mohanty addressed the gathering.

But the real picture was quite different as the farmers of these districts had also been hit by the unseasonl rains and their crops had been badly damaged and had lead to wide spread discontent amongst the people in these areas. They also showed demonstrations against this decision of the govt. of not granting them compensations in front of the their respective collectors offices as well as block offices.

And keeping note of the dissatisfaction of the farmers, CM  Naveen Pattnaik and revenue minister Surya Narayan Patra had an discussion with four ministers, two MP’s and seven MLA’s upon which the CM concluded that a reassessmet of the situation in these districts was needed and ordered the same. Among others ministers  Prafulla Ghadei, Prafulla Samal, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Devi Prasad Mishra, MP’s Bhatruhari Mahtab and Baijant Panda and MLA’s Chandra Sarathy Behera, Priti Ranjan Ghadei, Prabhat Ranjan Biswal, Prashant Muduli and Ramesh Rout were present during discussions with the Chief Minister.

CM has also mentioned that the Congress led UPA government is not at all showing the right amount of support for the state government in order to make the right call for development in the state. The Chief Minister has also mentioned that the center has got a big role in the development of the state but unfortunately it is not showing the support and the interest for the same reason for last six years once it has managed to move into the power.

Today 11:36 am was luckiest time for Naveen Patnaik.After creating a history in  Orissa Government, Naveen today take oath for the third time in a row in this moment.20 ministers took oath with him.This also creates a record for a regional team to build Government for the third time.

It is for the first time where any regional party  made  the govt.  without any other external support.Also  in Orissa, It’s the first time where any chief minister comes for the third time.There are too many regional parties existing in Orissa.But till now,no party was able to made the govt alone without the support of any other party.It’s the first time  the contradiction occurs.So it definitely makes a proud moment for whole Orissa.

Out of 21 parliamentary seats,  14 seats are in the hold of BJD, which undoubtedly says who will be the next “Mahanayak” of Orissa.

Tommorrow, second poll election is going to be held. But BJD hasnot invited any outsiders. As it is a regional
 party, it is not possible even to invite anyone from outside.BJD doesn’t even thought of inviting any bollywood
personality for writing their recommendation letter.Naveen has mentioned this thing categorically before press.
