Pollution threats for Rivers

Cuttack – the authorities have definitely managed to check the noise pollution during the Ganesh Puja this year, they have implemented certain strict rules against the noise pollution as per the orders from the High Court. However, the pollution worries for both the Mahanadi and Kathagodi River still remains quite visible due to the lack of Idol immersion guidelines. Idols immersion in the rivers is definitely triggering the pollution level for both these rivers and at the same time environmentalists have shown their aggression for the whole issue. This is a matter of worry because with time the idols immersion number has moved for thousands. Cheap lead and chrome based paints are in use to paint these idols and that seems to be creating enough problems for the rivers once the idols immersion is taking place.

Strike against Jayshree chemicals in Ganjam

The chemical factory Jayshree chemicals has been transporting chemicals through pipes to railway station from a long time. This transportation pipes crosses through some villages of Ganjam and leaves behind its remnant which make the people suffer.

The chemicals get inside the water bodies which causes the skin diseases, destroys farming field on its way. The villagers had reported about these problems to the higher authorities of villages, district magistrate but noone has taken any steps.Finally they decided to come for revolution to save their families from this disaster.According to the villagers, the pollution board control should stop this factory for the well being of the residents.

“These type of allegations generally come with the set up of any plant”, says R.S.Choudhury, Secretary, Jayshree chemicals.
