			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After days of wait it seems finally Orissa may get its new Pradesh Congress Committee president after reports emerged that the Congress High Command is set to announce the new head by tonight. It is expected that Congress Supremo Sonia Gandhi could choose between Niranjan Pattnaik, Chandra Shekhar Sahu and Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra. ALong with these three senior leaders, opposition leader in Orissa Bidhan Sabha Bhupinder Singh is set to meet Sonia Gandhi at her 10 Janpath Road residence today.</p>
<p>And it is expected that after this meeting, AICC will officially announce the new PCC president in a press conference. Whoever may be the new president the high command is believed to direct all the four senior leaders to work together to strengthen the party organisation in the state and also help the new leader. AICC General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad who is on a tour of Mumbai is also expected to be present during the meeting according to sources.</p>
<p>It may be noted here that Congress upper echilon had invited these four senior leaders to Delhi to have discsussion regarding the future course of action to be taken in concern to the state. Before that they are also believed to have a discussion with Azad at his 3 South Abhimanyu Lane residence. During the meeting Azad is believed to have directly informed the afore mentioned leaders that one amongst them is set to become the head of the congress in the state. he also advised them to work in tandomwith the new PCC president whoever he may be and take on the Naveen Pattnaik govt. in the state as well as maintain the unity in the party as well as consolidate the position of the Congress in the state.</p>
<p>Earlier Santosh Bagrodia, the Pradesh returning officer appointed in November last year to adjudicate the election of the next PCC head had accepted the application of the newly elected PCC members in the state and given the responsibility of appointing the PCC  president on the Congress Supremo.</p>

This time there are 86 seats and the state where election will be conducted are Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh and Pudducherry.<br />
In this election campaigning, Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Jaya Lalita, Mayawati has put their efforts to bag the votes for ruling the government.</p>
