After making a firm step in “Nano” concept in transport sector, this year Tata has introduced again a new concept in telecommunication sector with the launch of new GSM service “DoCoMo” with strategic alliance with Japanese telecom giant, NTT Docomo. According to Tata Docomo president Deepak Gulati, the company’s GSM service have started its operations in Tamilnadu, Kerala and Orissa covering a total of 20,847 towns and villages, 4,205 km of National Highway and 3837 km of rail route. The grand launch in Orissa, will invest around Rs 350 crore for GSM operations, covering 390 towns and 14,303 villages in next couple of months.

The company will roll out services in Kolkata, West Bengal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh circles by August end and aims to expand its pan India presence by October this year, with the exception of Jammu & Kashmir and North-East.
