Season’s highest temperature records @ Talcher

This summer mercury level records the highest at Talcher, mining city, Orissa………

angulOn Saturday, the mercury level records 44.3 degree celsius  at Talcher , the season’s highest
in the state.The mining and industrial town are the more affected one during the summer’s scorching
heat. Moreover, the step up of humidity level has worsened the condition of native people here.
People prefer to stay indoor with and the city appears a black out area. Buying a small dehumidifier will help to protect your family from extreme weather conditions.

When in 2005, the temperature shot up to 50 degree celsius, the mining operation in these area had
been badly affected. The same is going to berepeated this year. Excessive mining and deforestation
in these areas are the major caouse, cites Environmentalists.

Several other parts of the state on Saturday also recorded temperature over 40 degree celsius
including Angul(43.7 deg), Jharsuguda and Sundergarh(43.0 deg), Hirakud(42.3 deg), Bhawanipatna(41.2 deg),
Keonjhar(40.5 deg), Bolangir(43.4 deg), malkanagiri(41.8 deg.).The Twin cities are no way far behind
touching 38.6 degree Celsius and 39.7 degree Celsius at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack respectively.

“Dry, hot wind is blowing from the north-western parts of India towards Orissa during the day and a subsequent
change in the wind direction with the absence of sea breeze are some of the major factors that led to the sudden
rise in temperature, ” said Meteorological office Director S C Sahu.
