Hindu deities trio in ‘Rath Yatra’

The much awaited festival ‘Rath Yatra’ of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Lord Subhadra  had livened the pious road of Puri with lakhs of devotees.The Lord’s nine day festival from His abode to the relatives house at ‘Gundicha’ had accumulated human sea on the road.

The three chariots Taladhwaja, Debadalan and  Nadighosha were rolling on the way with Lord Balabhadra , Lord Subhadra and Lord Jagannath carrying on its back.The ritual started with ‘Pahandi’, where three siblings were ecorted to their respected chariots.Today, the respective rituals are carried out in the specified time.After completion of Pahandi at 10:30, Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati took three round along the chariots.

Then, the three chariots were sweeped in pious water in golden broom according to the long tradition by Puri king Gajapati Dibyasingha Dev.After the auspicious ritual, the three chariots marched towards the Gundicha temple.The three chariots reached the respected place within the time amongst the disciples.

Chief minister Naveen Pattnaik, Governor M C Bhandare and Prafulla Ghadei were among the VIP spectators on this occasion.
