Rs 630 crore power bill dues to Orissa

State energy minister Atanu S Nayak declared a due of Rs 630 crore power bill to Orissa on tuesday assembly session. According to the report 34 companies including public sector National Aluminium Comapny Limited(Nalco) and Rourkela Steel Plant(RSP) are in the queue.

As per the report maximum outstanding bill stands by Nalco which amounts to Rs. 496.23 crore by the end of 2008-2009.Nalco was followed by another Public sector company RSP which amounts due to Rs 28.24 crore.Among other companies Bellarpur Industries limited, Jeypore owes Rs.11.69 crore, ICCL/IMFA , Chowdwar dues Rs 1.18 crore, Aarati Steel & Power Limited, Cuttack is to pay Rs 13.16 cr., Shree Mettalics, Keonjhar owes Rs. 8.11 crore and ESPL, Jharsuguda is at Rs. 1.91 crore.

Although Nalco has been given intimation to resolve the dues, the government is unsure of the time within which the company will pay the bill.
